For the first time in company history, Miura is releasing a raw finish option for its Forged wedges in a regular retail run.

Miura’s recently released Forged wedge offering was worth the wait, and just four months later, Miura is back to improve on the new Forged Series wedges with another first for the company: raw wedges in a regular production offering.

Previously, Miura had only offered a raw finish on its wedges for special custom offerings. But the company is now making the new Forged Series Y and C grinds available at retail in addition to the existing chrome finish, which was released in June.

“The main reason for wanting to release this raw product to consumers is because it’s something we’ve never done before,” said Jared Cohen, Miura’s marketing director. “Offering them in raw as an opportunity to show our customers that these wedges are something that we’re proud of and want to offer them in any type of style or finish that might appeal to the maximum number of customers, but also to our core customers that are pretty die hard.”

Miura introduces new, perfectly engineered wedges, melding the best of forged feel with two unique sole grinds which will benefit all golfers in all turf conditions. These special grinds will become instant allies in the bags of golfers who take take their short games seriously and find delight in the performance of great designs.

Miura says the benefits of a raw finish include the potential for more spin, reduced glare and a softer feel. As a raw product, the wedges will rust over time and will need to be maintained, but Cohen says many players end up preferring the grungy, gamed look anyway.

The Forged Series Raw wedges still feature the “Kanji” symbol stamped on the back, a Japanese character that translates to “striving” or “noble effort.”

Both the Y and C grinds from the initial chrome release will be available in the raw finish. Miura’s previous wedge release only came with one grind option.

The Y grind is best suited for neutral to steep swingers and is a good option from the bunkers, while the C grind is for players who have a neutral to shallow angle of attack and like to manipulate the face around the green.

“The Y and C grinds are just kind of the tip of the iceberg on where we plan to take this line of wedges that we plan to have in the family for many years to come,” Cohen said.

Miura’s 2024 Forged Series wedges ($320) are available in both the new raw finish and the original chrome for custom order through Fairway Jockey.
