Cobra's new King Tec, King Tec-X and King Tec-X One Length irons.

Cobra is releasing the fifth generation of its King Tec forged irons.

Cobra

Players looking for forged looks and feel with modern performance technology have a new option. Cobra is unveiling its latest irons into the ever-popular “players-distance” category with the fifth generation of King Tec, King Tec-X and King Tec-X ONE Length irons.

Cobra bills the new King Tec irons as the “ultimate players-distance iron” and, like the rest of the family, the irons are built around a new Forged PWRSHELL face insert with H.O.T Face Variable Thickness Geometry. That means the clubface is thinner and stronger, which helps produce higher ball speeds.

All three new models also utilize a five-step forging process, which the company says helps improve feel and allows for precise shaping.

With the King Tec, the shaping has been refined from the previous generation to shorten the blade length, soften the topline and create what the company calls a “tucked toe.” The pitching wedge in the set also sports a flatter topline and straighter leading edge.

Cobra King TEC Custom Irons

$172
The KING TEC Irons are designed to inspire a better ball striking experience.Featuring a new 5-step forged body and face, and refined shaping, these ironsdeliver true feel and better player looks with all of the forgiveness you need. REFINED SHAPING Experience unrivaled ball-striking through a sleeker and refined shape featuring a thinner topline and reduced offset that inspires precision and playability. ENHANCED FEEL THROUGH FORGING & FOAM TECH Each TEC iron is crafted from 1025 carbon steel and precision-forged 5 times to deliver soft, player-preferred feel. A hollow body design is filled with a new foam that is lighter and softer to enhance feel and feedback. INCREASED SPEED AND STABILITY: PWRSHELL H.O.T FACE & TUNGSTEN WEIGHTING Dynamic distance is unleashed using a hollow body, a thinner and more robust PWRSHELL insert with H.O.T Face Technology, and 20g of tungsten in the toe for added stability.

The hollow part of the clubheads are filled with enhanced foam microspheres to dampen vibration and improve sound.

The King Tec 4- through 7-irons also feature a 20g tungsten weight in the low heel area to make the clubhead more stable through impact by increasing its resistance to twisting. The 8-iron through gap wedge have no tungsten to help lower ball flight.

The King Tec-X and King Tec-X One Length are targeted as a game-improvement iron as they feature a larger profile than the King Tec.

Compared to the previous generation, the new King Tec-X models have a rounder and sleeker topline while having reduced visual offset, meaning the club looks like it has less offset than it really does — a look preferred by many players.

Like the King Tec models, the King Tec-X models are also built around the forged PWRSHELL face insert with H.O.T Face Variable Thickness Geometry, but the King Tec-X features softer and lighter foam microspheres in the hollow clubhead to enhance feel.

Cobra King TEC X Custom Irons

$172
The KING TEC X Irons redefine how a game improvement iron should look and feel. Exhilarating distance and forgiveness are achieved through an internal 70g tungsten weight and hollow body construction, giving you the keys to improve your game while looking like a serious player. PLAYERS GAME IMPROVEMENT SHAPING Featuring a slightly larger profile than KING TEC, the X model is designed to inspire confidence in a more forgiving shape that delivers enhanced stability on off-center hits. IMPROVED FEEL: HOLLOW CONSTRUCTION WITH SOFTER FOAM A hollow body design is filled with a new foam that is lighter and softer to enhance feel and feedback. INCREASED SPEED AND STABILITY: PWRSHELL H.O.T FACE & TUNGSTEN WEIGHTING Dynamic distance is unleashed using a hollow body, a thinner and more robust PWRSHELL insert with H.O.T Face Technology, and 70g of tungsten in the toe for added stability.

The tungsten weight in the King Tec-Xs is also more than triple the size of King Tec at 70g and is suspended throughout the bottom of the clubhead to improve stability and forgiveness on off-center hits.

For those who want the consistency associated with a single-length set, Cobra also unveiled a refined ONE Length version of the King Tec-X.

The King Tec-X ONE Length has all the same technologies as the standard version, but the 4- through 6-irons have 1.5 mm wider soles, increased lofts and more offset to make them easier to launch.

Cobra King TEC X ONE Length Custom Irons

MORE CONSISTENCY WITH ONE LENGTH ONE Length is designed to simplify your game so you can be more confident, and more consist from every distance to the pin. Each TEC-X ONE Length iron is built to 7-iron length, allowing golfers to use one repeatable setup and swing for every club. Arccos users have increased their GIR (Greens In Regulation) percentage by an average of 40% when they switched from variable length irons to ONE Length irons.
